Kaestrings, whose full name is Kingsley Innocent Owoicho-Oche, is a Nigerian gospel artist, songwriter, worship leader and acoustic guitarist known for a distinctive style of intimate, acoustic worship. Raised in Zaria, Kaduna State, his musical journey developed through the church, where he began singing and serving in worship from an early age. His background also includes the study of Fine Arts at Ahmadu Bello University, reflecting his wider interest in creative expression. The name Kaestrings combines “Kae,” derived from Kingsley, with “strings,” reflecting his strong association with the acoustic guitar. His music is characterized by simple arrangements, heartfelt vocals and themes of God's presence, surrender, devotion and spiritual intimacy. Kaestrings gained widespread recognition through his worship song “Ga Shi Nan,” meaning “He Is Here.” The song received significant exposure during Nathaniel Bassey's Hallelujah Challenge in 2017 and became one of the songs that established Kaestrings as a recognizable voice within Nigeria's contemporary gospel music scene. He has since released songs including “Haske,” “Love,” “Nasara,” “Broken,” “Tare” and “Walk on Water.” His music ministry has also been associated with Eternity Network International (Koinonia Global), where he has served within the worship ministry. Beyond individual songs and recordings, Kaestrings has developed live worship gatherings through Feast of Light, a platform centred on worship and the recording of new music. In 2026, Kaestrings released Rahama (Live), a 13-track live worship album featuring songs such as “Rahama,” “Haske,” “Let It Show,” “Do a Work in Me,” “Broken” and “Walk on Water.” The project reflects the intimate worship sound that has become central to his ministry and continues his emphasis on creating music that encourages prayer, surrender and deeper fellowship with God. Through his songwriting, acoustic performances and live worship ministry, Kaestrings continues to use music as an avenue for Christian devotion, with a particular emphasis on simplicity, God's presence and heartfelt worship.
